The video should be big and crisp but reliably load at the speed with which NBC News crews deploy to cover stories around the world. You should be able to quickly find what you want, whatever it is: Anne Thompson on what may be the death march of the penguins, Brian Williams and Keith Olbermann on the steroid scandal rocking baseball, Willie Geist satirizing the news on our very own ZeitGeist vlog, or Hoda Kotb on why women love geeks. And, for you technologically adventurous types, you should be able to watch Hoda's geek love package on the widest possible array of operating systems and modern browsers, including Safari, Firefox, Flock, Camino, Opera and Omniweb. You will need Flash 9 if you don't already have it installed, and JavaScript must be enabled.
Calvin Tang (err, the Newsvine Blog) recently made some announcements regarding Newsvine in 2008:

Emphasis mine.
MSNBC unveils a new beta video player and Newsvine announces that video capabilities are on tap for 2008 a day later...
Coincidence?
Maybe.
Ever the detective :)
I really hope this new video feature is Cross-platform compatible.
The MSNBC.com one is Flash-based, so it is cross-platform. Based on what I know about the Newsvine team, I'm quite certain they would never do any kind of video that wasn't cross-platform (Newsvine is a bunch of Mac-lovers). :)
Brian, thanks for the link. Beautiful site. Now where are they going to let me upload? I did send them a message. I would have been here sooner but I got booted off IE upon return to this thread. Let me give you a link. Here!
Now where are they going to let me upload?
How is it you manage to get my questions every time?
Now that is nice ! Loved the video on Sex sells Coffee :-) Neat interface, looks very hi-tech and works very well. Nice job guys !
However...They left off the "Community" flyout ...
