I agree with pretty much everything Gruber has to say, except the footnote:

Anyone who has ever tried to navigate through the "Virtual Console Store" on the Wii would beg to differ.

Beyond that minor nitpick, I've always agreed that Nintendo and Apple were kindred spirits -- and that strategic partnering would be a huge asset to both companies. (Apple could use Nintendo's gaming experience [and catalog] and Nintendo could certainly use Apple's GUI experience -- most notably the iTunes Store.)
