EMI is to hold a media event on Monday with Apple boss Steve Jobs as special guest, prompting speculation that Beatles songs will finally go online.

This is great news. I'm a peculiar sort of Beatles fan: I like some of their stuff really well -- while other songs do absolutely nothing for me. I'm excited that I may be able to purchase individual tracks, if this deal comes to fruition.

Cautionary note -- it just occurred to me that I'm seeding this on April 1st, and it could be a high-profile joke.
