Once again, the voting public has spoken. Once again, what they're telling us is sad. As in California with Proposition 8, 53% of voters in Maine have voted to repeal legislation which would have extended equal rights to gay citizens:

So, as many of you know, I've been tossing around some ideas that I think will help improve Newsvine, primarily related to reshaping the front page so that it better reflects the concept of getting smarter here.

My belief that the front page is cluttered with nonsense and crap is no secret. It's also no secret that I'm no stranger to publishing my fair share of nonsense and crap over the years.

Last month I wrote about the distribution woes facing Greg Kohs, director of the critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary, Song Sung Blue.

Social networking concepts can be broken down into two categories: 1) General social-networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace or 2) Social-niche sites such as Flickr, Twitter and Newsvine.

Ah, the question mark. Without it, dinner would always be a surprise. The bill would always be a shocking revelation. Patrons would be forced to stumble around blindly in search of the bathroom in unfamiliar establishments.
